This project was in Limpopo.  The team of students from Emmanuel Homes gave up their holiday during late June and early July to become the teachers for this project.  The purpose, and the theme was "You Are Special".  This was delivered to 4 different schools, about 300 students, over six days. Each day's activities included time allocated to a Bible lesson, Athletics, Crafts, and Music.  The team had less than 6 weeks to prepare for this project, but they performed like professionals.  This project was held in conjunction with the following partners:
A World Aware/South Africa
Bushveld Mission
Zumani Lekang Children's Creche
African Harvest
The Fold, South Africa (Children's Home)
and a host of corporate and private sponsors.

Sorting day, literally a house full of materials were used for the projects.

Every student made special friends.

Sponsors donated cups and bowls for meals.

Teaching age appropiate lessons to make it meaningful.

A break and a braai in the evening.

Meals were served each day at each school.

Athletics were a big hit.

There were mini stages setup to teach as well.

Each school received a tower garden as a project for the children to participate in.  These were donated by African Harvest.

Every person helped in building the gardens.

The music was terrific!  And a lot of fun.

In addition to a meal, there were breaks with snacks in the morning and afternoon.

Lucas enjoying a moment in the sun.

Many things were used to teach.  Puppets are always a real treat.

Sello riding along to the school.

Athletics included some really cool things, like Christinah doing this jumpy thing???

Christinah in transit.

Lucas and Bongwie on the road.

A craft that everyone helped in was a mosaic at each school.  These were left as lasting momentos of the project.

Numbelelo waiting for her class.

Another fun craft.  The children learned many new ideas from the things they made.

One of the most popular crafts was the pinwheel.

Some of the team during a lunch break. No they did not cook this meal.

The little guys eating in the veld.

After the work was done.  Don't they still look fresh?  Now some fun for them.

A gift of a game drive was provided, wow did the team have fun on this day!  Thanks for the great time.

A hike up Skrikfontein, and a great history lesson for all.  A picnic was had on the way back, with some great conversation too.

The last trip before heading back to Johannesburg was to visis a soup kitchen and street feeding project. The team helped lead songs, and hand out the food to all the children in this community, Leseding. There were approximately 800 children this day.
